Olen pärit muusikute perest.  Aastatel 1993-2005 õppisin Tallinna Muusikakeskkoolis viiulit oma ema Mirjam Keremi käe all. Õpingud jätkusid Eesti Muusika- ja Teatriakadeemias (2005-2010) samuti ema juhendamisel, kus omandasin kaks kraadi (Humanitaarteaduse Bakalaureus keelpilli erialal ja Haridusteaduse Magister Cum Laude Interpretatsioonipedagoogika erialal. Lõputöö teemaks oli “Õpetaja võimalused õpilase harjutamisoskuste kujundamisel”). Töötasin aastatel 2014-2020 Kose Muusikakoolis viiuliõpetaja ja keelpilliosakonna juhatajana; peale kooli struktuuri muutumist Kose Huvikooliks kuni aastani 2022 viiuliõpetajana.

Peale koolide lõpetamist olen osalenud Loode-Eesti konkurssi žüriis, esinenud erinevate koosseisude ja kavadega Mustpeade maja Olavi saalis, Tallinna Kunstide Koolis, Põltsamaa Muusikakoolis ja Kose Muusikakoolis. Samuti olen väga palju tegelenud repetiitori tööga. 2013. aastal ilmunud raamatu “Arutlusi keelpillimängu radadel ehk muusikalis-interpretatsioonilise tegevuse psühholoogia ja didaktika” (metoodik Olavi Silla loengute põhjal ilmunud raamat viiulimängu õpetamise teemadel) olin kaasautorina tegev transkribeerijana. Sama tööd tegin 2017. aasta kevadel ilmunud  raamatu „Vladimir Alumäe. Rektor, pedagoog, interpreet“ koostamisel.

Minu enda suur soov õpetada viiulit ning huvi õpetamise vastu üldiselt pärineb ilmselt minu suguvõsast, kus on väga palju õpetajaid läbi mitme põlvkonna ning erinevatelt erialadelt (matemaatika, füüsika, elektroonika, eesti keel, klaver jt.). Õpetamisega puutusin esmakordselt kokku 10-aastasena, kui ema palus mul endast aasta nooremale lapsele õpetada selgeks mingi rütmikombinatsioon. Mäletan, et minu esimene küsimus endale oli: “Kuidas seda teha?” Viimasel aastal keskkoolis tegin õpetajate päeval ema õpilastega tunde, puutudes kokku väga erinevas vanuses laste (I-XI klass) ja probleemidega.  Õpingud jätkusid Eesti Muusika- ja Teatriakadeemias, kus peale Bakalaureuse kraadi omandamist vahetasin eriala Interpretatsioonipedagoogika vastu, et saada veelgi enam ja rohkem süvitsi minevaid vajalikke teadmisi viiulimängu õpetamise kohta. Eriala vahetus magistriastmes oli teadlik valik juba akadeemiasse astudes.

I come from a family of musicians. In the years 1993-2005, I studied violin at the Tallinn Music High School under my mother Mirjam Kerem. I continued my studies at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theater (2005-2010) also under the supervision of my mother, where I obtained two degrees (Bachelor of Humanities majoring in strings and Master of Education Cum Laude majoring in Interpretation pedagogy. The topic of the thesis was "Teacher's possibilities in shaping student's practice skills"). From 2014 to 2020, I worked as a violin teacher and head of the string department at Kose Music School; after the school's structure changed to Kose Hobby School until 2022 as a violin teacher.

After graduating from school, I have participated in the jury of the North-West Estonian competition, performed with different compositions and programs in the Mustpeade maja Olavi hall, Tallinn Arts School, Põltsamaa Music School and Kose Music School. I have also worked a lot as a tutor. In 2013, I was a co-author of the book "Discussions on the paths of string playing, i.e. the psychology and didactics of musical-interpretative activity" (a book published based on the lectures of methodologist Olavi Silla on the topics of teaching the violin). I did the same work for the book "Vladimir Alumäe. Rector, pedagogue, interpreter" in preparation.

My own great desire to teach the violin and my interest in teaching in general probably comes from my family, where there are many teachers through several generations and from different disciplines (mathematics, physics, electronics, Estonian, piano, etc.). I first came into contact with teaching when I was 10 years old, when my mother asked me to teach a child a year younger than me some rhythmic combination. I remember my first question to myself was: "How to do this?" In my last year in high school, on teacher's day, I did classes with my mother's students, coming into contact with children of very different ages (grades I-XI) and problems. I continued my studies at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theater, where after obtaining my Bachelor's degree, I changed my major to Interpretation Pedagogy in order to gain even more and more in-depth necessary knowledge about teaching the violin. The change of specialty in the master's degree was a conscious choice already when entering the academy.
