Cello’ScooL is the Malvern based teaching practice of classic rock cellist Julia Palmer-Price. Julia discovered there were no cellists at The Chase High School when, after a tour playing Jimi Hendrix with Nigel Kennedy, she arrived in the hills in 1999. Julia began recruiting students from The Malvern Parish Primary School, where her own children were pupils. Since then Julia has created a ‘spike’ of accidental cellists who put their hands up in class after hearing a bit of Bach, Beethoven, Boogie-Woogie and Batman!  It is no coincidence that many go on to study science, maths and medecine.

With an interest in Montessori, and passion for pedagogy, Julia has combined the Susuki and Kodayli method’s, with improvisation from the word go, to develop her own Cello’ScooL method. Julia's aim is to produce gorgeous sounding life-long cellists, fine musicians and noble hearted human beings. Whether you or your child are the next Sheku Kanneh Mason or not, learning the cello is a wonderfully tactile, fun & enriching musical process.
